Finding Your Personal Style

 I've decided to make these post because I was recently looking at older pictures and seeing how myself and my style has evolved over the years. We all have gone through the phases of where I style was nothing how you are at all. My style first started changing around freshmen year of high school. That's when tumblr was such a huge part of fashion and I tried so hard to have that different style like those on tumblr and it just didn't fit me .
With that tumblr trend I also started to thrift a lot more and added a lot of "vintage" pieced to my wardrobe. And looking back on it it looks just so forced.

As I got older in high school and senior year came I and my style was looking a little more like myself.  With this style I stopped with loud prints and forcing "tumblr trends". This is also where I became more comfortable in my skin.

Now it is my Junior year and college and I find that my style really become my own.

I now wear things for comfort but yet stylish. The basics in my wardrobe include some sort of sneakers, jeans and t-shirt. On some occasions you'll catch me in a dress or skirt but usually some sneakers are included in those outfits.The main trend that I have also noticed in my style is monochrome looks,as well as denim on denim.

As I grow and find myself more I also find my style more. There is still so much more in life and many more expriences that will probably affect my style as well. I hope to continue to add more photos to my blog and see how my style evolves even more. I hope to take more risks in my style instead of playing it safe all the time. But that is main goal for my style for this year.

Neutrals + Turban

Hello fellow bloggers!

It's currently finals week and of course like every other college student I'm procrastinating because thats what we do best. I really just bored and have nothing to do until I have my last final on Wednesday. So this make it the perfect time to post some thanksgiving pictures. 

Recently I've gotten into the turban phase, not only is it great for days when you don't feel like doing your hair but it's also great for making a boring outfit less boring. I'm surprised I haven getting one in every color yet.

Theres really not much details to add about my outfit. My necklaces from forever 21, as well as my shirt. Jeans are from toyshop (which are the best pair of jeans ever). Purse is Dooney and Burke and lastly the scarf is from Walmart.

It might seem odd that I'm posting, and even more odd that I'm posting something beyond ootd but something personal. Writing is so much better then talking things out to me. When you write you can write out everything that comes to mind instead of you just rambling about things that don't actually make sense.

The feeling of a heart break is probably this worst feeling imaginable and personally wouldn't even wish this on my worst enemy. It this overwhelming feeling of coldness that feels like...

Crazy how i attempted to start writing this on July 2nd and still a month and a few days I'm still unable to accurately post my feelings. What am I to do? I've lost my best friend and the thought of that hurts me more then the fact that he was my love. Not being able to call or drive to see this person whenever you need to.

And of course afterwards they'll say they be there whenever you need to call them but how long is that invitation extended to. Is that just a few days, few weeks, few months or until they move on? It's just this never ending feeling on loneliness. Everyday things you used to do now reminds you them. You wear a certain piece of clothing and you're reminded of the exact time, place and activity that happened in that shirt.

Why do we put our selves through this thing called love? Not knowing the outcome and the effects of what will happen. Giving this person the power of your world in their hands. Just one wrong move and your world comes falling down.

Here I am on September 15th finally finishing this long and drawn out post. I've become comfortable with this final break up that just happened. I am not longer upset about the loss of this person because I know that if it was this easy to leave it wasn't meant to be. That there is so much more out there for me. Im at a new college and its a new semester where I can meet people who will make me forget all the pain I'm experiencing. I hope in the future I will be able to blog more and share my experiences because college is the last hooray before adulthood right?

Forgotten Files

I have pretty bittersweet memories over these set of pictures. I was so excited cause this was the day that I was going to the Kehlani concert, I had gotten all dressed up early in hopes to take some bomb blog pics. Wellll, seemed that my camera and tripod had the opposite idea. Mid-way of my picture taking my tripod falls tragically breaking my precious camera. Several months later, and a whole new year I have gotten decided to post these hidden files on my laptop. For my "photoshoot" to be so short lived that day the only three pictures that I did happen to get aren't that bad, so for that I'm satisfied. 

My two piece is a romper from the thrift store that ended up being too small. With the help of my mom and some random lace trim in the house we were able to achieve this cute and comfy outfit. I opted for my trusty navy blue chucks cause the concert was standing room only so I had to have to shoes that wouldn't kill my feet.

Just Graduated

Sooo this happened today!!!

I just graduated high school today! It was long and tedious but I can say that I made it. This is the most bittersweet moment in my life. I'll miss my friends for the most part, I'm ready to start my life and work towards my career.

So this last weekend was my prom!!! It was so stressful for everything to be perfect for that night but it totally paid off. The dress is designed by me and made by my mother. My make up was done by a family friend. I didn't really take many pictures by myself that were any good. I also went to a beach house and brunch so I'll show those pictures as well.

Easter Sunday

Heyyyy Guys!! Im back with an outfit of the day. It's pretty casual for Easter Sunday but I was working in children church and was gonna be there all day so I decided to dress down. Even though I wore a dress the first service.  I wish I had more to say but I really didn't do much today. I was just on twitter and youtube all day, but here's the outfit

Hey Guys! It's been awhile I haven't been able to post a outfit mostly because I wear uniform and on the weekends I've been stuck on the house which equals:

Bummy days= Bummy clothes= Bummy me 

But anyways back to the main reason of this post, my new obsession with FKA Twigs. I've always known about Twigs but just the other day I actually sat down and listened to her. Her voice is so enchanting, it is truly pure art. Not only is her music art but her videos are just as enchanting as her voice. Not to mention her great unique style, she is like the queen of baby hairs. Below here are some of  my fave songs by her. 

  

A Lil Henna Crazy

Lately I have been slightly obsessed with hennas. Okay I'll be truthful, I've been more then a little obsessed with them, they are just so beautiful and mesmerizing. Since I didn't really want to pay 15 plus for a henna, I decided that I would do my own. All I did was look up the closest Indian Market to me and purchased some henna ink. Ever since then I have been trying to give anyone one a Henna who lets me. I also want to perfect the skills since I do best with artistic things. Enough rambling I'll just show you the two that I have done so far.

Today I was doing my usual stalking on style.com even thought I had been slacking lately. But today something just told me to look up on Alice + Olivia to see what new thing they have posted. And I tell you I have fallen in LOVE. Im usually always a big fan of what Stacey Bendet [ designer] creates. Season by season I am blown away by her designs, she never fails to impress me, making her one of my fave designers. Below are my top favorite, the main styles that I am a big fan of are the mixed prints (3), wide leg pants (2) and long outerwear and fringe (1).

Thrift Pick Ups

 I went my favorite thrift store Value Village and picked up a few things. So I've been to this thrift store dozens of times and something just told me to go to the book section. I did and found Bohemian Manifesto and Valley of the Dolls. I chose Bohemian Manifesto because I love the bohemian trend and wanted to know more background of it. Then I chose Valley of the Dolls because Marina and the Diamonds has a song named that title. Next I picked up the plaid skirt so I could make it asymmetrical for the Fall time. I only picked up short cause you could never go wrong with denim ever, I distressed and ripped some hole in the to give them more run-down look. Lastly I got a jersey like shirt to kind of rep Houston (even though we don't have the best teams compared to others) and I was just gonna crop it to make more sporty.

So I decided after several months of abandoning my blog to get back with the program. I wore the "day" outfit with a girls night out with some of my girlfriends because its my 17th birthday. How ironic that I'm actually wearing the "day" at night but I just simply wanted to show the versatility of one outfit .That is all for now lovely bloggers.

So one of my favorite up and coming artist released her EP yesterday and ever since I bought it, I haven't stopped listening to it. The artist Justine Skye was just recently signed to Atlantic records a couple months ago and ever since then she has been blowing up. Yesterday she was also introduced on BET as the new joint.

What I'd Wear Back2School

Since I go to a school that has a uniform,I decided that I wanted to do the outfit i would wear back to school. The first outfit is a laid back, basic but cute look. It would also look great on the 4th of July.The second outfit is a bit more sophisticated with the maxi skirt and turtle neck crop but still comfortable to wear all day at school.Lastly the third one is a more feminine outfit with a floral romper and a loose flowing cardigan.
